Though it is very late but still a big move from the company, which is known for its costly products, to giveaway its top rated product free of cost. Yes! you guessed it right; I am talking about Microsoft. I do not know how long this offer will continue but it is true that students and teachers can get Microsoft Office 365 free of cost with many other benefits. You will get the latest version of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Access and Publisher. You will also install it up to 5 devices including PC, Mac, iOS and Android. Other than that you will also get 1 terabyte OneDrive cloud storage. The features and function can be limited based on the support to that particular operating system.

To get Microsoft Office 365 free, you need to be living in or at least registered in any USA university and your email should be ending at .edu. I hope that they will also provide this as free in other countries like they said, “Sign-up for students is available in the U.S. today, and will expand worldwide later this year“.
Well, there is a catch in it. This offer is available for only those students whose educational institutes has purchased Office organization-wide for all faculty/staff via the Microsoft Volume Licensing program.

I may have not written about this offer. I am writing about it because Microsoft had announced on the page that the free Office 365 offer will be extended to other countries at the end of this year.
Most probably Microsoft is providing it famous Office 365 free to students and teachers because of their trend towards OpenOffice and LibreOffice. And then there are some other names like WPS Office Free (former Kingsoft Office) available for Android and Windows, OfficeSuite Pro is also best for Android and also available for iOS devices [this suite if my favorite to work on tablet]. How can we forget famous SoftMaker Free Office. The competition is tough.
